Wanderers were once
again missing several players, as they faced league winners Green Man.
With Mark Timms,
Phil Soane, Tom Soane, Anthony Prior and Andy Corless all absent, Adam Clark, Paul Martin and Scott Ford were drafted
in.
The Blues immediately
faced a series of swift attacks from Green Man. Wanderers' central defensive partnership of Clint Falcus and Chris Hillsdon
continued their recent good form, and won tackles and headers to help protect goalkeeper Clark.
Ten minutes in, and
the home side opened the scoring. Edward Townsend was turned, and the Green Man forward's shot was diverted
beyond Clark by Falcus' attempted block.
Green Man then
struck a second goal, before Wanderers came close to scoring. A Jamie Ryall free-kick into the box, found Paul
Martin, who shot narrowly wide.
Wokingham went on to
concede two further goals before the interval. At the other end, only a highly dubious offside call prevented
the opportunity to pull a goal back, after a foul on Martin looked to have resulted in a penalty.
The second half saw
Green Man dominate completely. Adam Clark produced a string of fine stops, which even drew praise from the home support,
but couldn't prevent the Bracknell side adding to their tally, and three
goals were put past him.
After both Darren
Wakley and Richard Scott had had shots saved, Paul Martin broke clear to fire home a consolation goal for Wanderers.
Wanderers will be
keen to finish the season with a positive performance against 3M on Tuesday night, and then focus on the next campaign.
