Wanderers secured another victory with an impressive display against Rides Dynamos Reserves.
After a shaky opening couple of minutes Wokingham found their rhythm, and enjoyed good possession with some neat passing.
The start could have been better, as Wanderers were denied an early goal after just ten minutes. Ian Griffiths' corner wasn't cleared properly, and Anthony Prior drove the ball across the face of goal. Dan van der Laan O'Donnell deflected the ball towards goal, and only the referee seemed to miss the sight of it crossing the line before being hacked away.
Wokingham went on to create several good openings, with chances falling to Paul Martin, Tom Soane, Prior and Dave Griffiths. With fifteen minutes of the half remaining, a poor back-pass let in Tom Soane, who turned provider for Martin to turn and steer a shot into the corner of the net.
Rides sought an equaliser before half time, and Mark Timms was once again impressive with some confident handling. Makeshift right back Jamie Ryall ably assisted Chris Hillsdon, van der Laan O'Donnell and Chris Orbell in defence.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with Wanderers creating plenty of opportunities. Soane and Martin both shot chances wide, before combining to set up the hardworking Darren Wakley. However he too missed the target, with a left-footed shot from eight yards.
At the other end Timms was again called upon, and produced two particularly good saved to preserve Wanderers' clean sheet.
With twenty minutes remaining Martin finished off some good work by Wakley to round the Rides goalkeeper and tap home. Wanderers introduced Lewis Trusty for the last fifteen minutes, replacing Jamie Ryall. There was also the welcome return of long-term injury victim Phil Soane.
Three wins from four league matches represents a good start for Wanderers, and they will hope to match this performance against AFC Nam next week.
