4th May 2003 - Bracknell Town FC Challenge Cup - Wildridings, Bracknell.

With Alan Mellor still unavailable through injury, Anthony Prior went in goal in this Bracknell Town FC Challenge Cup first round game.

 

Wanderers dominated the early play but were unable to take their chances.  Tom Soane had a shot charged down and Lewis Trusty shot straight at the Sunninghill keeper.  Their best opportunity fell to Alan Pearce who shot narrowly wide when through on goal.

 

In defence Wokingham were solid, though Prior managed to save when facing a one on one chance. 

 

The breakthrough came when Tom Soane was sent clear and he drove a low shot beyond the goalkeeper into the corner of the net.

 

In the second half Wokingham created more chances but were unable to raise the tempo.  Alan Pearce, Tom Soane and Scott Ford all had opportunities to extend Wanderers lead and would have done so had it not been for poor finishing and dogged defending.

 

Wanderers held on to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the challenge cup, however their game on Tuesday night will take their recent run of matches to
