Wanderers suffered a heavy defeat
against Purple Turtle to crash out of the County Cup.
The Blues welcomed back Chris Hillsdon
from injury and fancied their chances despite the heavy pitch and windy conditions.
Wokingham struggled to pass the ball
in the opening ten minutes and went behind through a freak goal. A long ball from midway inside the Turtle half caught
in the wind and bounced over Nick Harding's head and into the net.
A second goal followed before half-time
and Wokingham were up against it.
The second half continued in the same
way as the first. Purple Turtle hit four goals, including a late penalty after a foul by Andy Corless.
Paul Martin had pulled a goal back
when he hooked in following Matt Pegg's free-kick.
This was an awful Wanderers performance
though, and one that rightly ended their cup run.
