Wanderers could only muster a twelve man squad again as they faced Emmbrook
Inn in the first match of a double-header.
Darren Wakley made a cameo appearance at left-back. Anthony Prior moved
into the middle of midfield as Ian Griffiths, already nursing an injury, started on the right.
In a fast-tempo match Wokingham found themselves 2-0 down fifteen minutes
in.
The first goal from the right side of the box gave Harding little chance as
the shot curled into the top corner. The second was more disappointing as a cross from the left came in unchallenged
and was touched into the net from close range.
In the second half Wokingham went 3-0 down and suffered worse luck as it was
clear that Ian Griffiths could not continue with his ankle injury. Peter Killingworth came on for his first appearance
of the season in goal and Harding took Griffiths' place on the right.
The next goal was perhaps unexpected as Wokingham pulled one back through
Harding. Paul Martin fed him well and Harding's calm finish reduced the deficit.
It was not to be the catalyst that would see Wokingham salvage anything from
the game as the visitors struck five times before the end. Killingworth could not do anything about the goals and produced
a couple of good stops to help prevent double figures.
Wanderers' chance for revenge comes as quickly as next
week, although it would seem unlikely that they will boast a full squad going into that game.
